Do you work on the weekends?

Do you work on the weekends? If so, what motivates you to do so?

I do. On Sundays. It's one-to-one teaching and it was my student's request to have our lessons on Sundays, as he's busy on weekdays. Do I like working at weekends? Not very much, but it's a temporary situation and it'll change in the summer

    Carol,

My answer is positive, I do work at weekends. and I love doing it, I usually work with a group of teenagers whose parents don't have enough money to pay them for an English course and they have approached me as they have low grades at secondary. So Saturdays and Sundays are the days I am not so tired as I  don't have to work  for so many hours, so I feel proud because they want to do better and because I can do something that not only benefits them but that gives me a lot of pleasure.

    Dear Carol,

I used to work on weekends when I was younger but not any more.

I only work on the weekends if I need extra money. But I used to teach children on Sundays - and really enjoyed it. Of course having a weekend work schedule makes planning a weekend away very difficult!

I used to work on Fridays ( a holiday in my country). It was really exhausting. I had to because it was difficult to make ends meet ,and I was in debts. And in fact I worked for peanuts. Now I feel that I was really betrayed and exploited. I think that if one has no financial problems, it would not be good idea to work on the weekends. Working overtime can affect one's teaching, health, and ( probably) family relationships. I would get up very early to go to work while my son was asleep and returned home late to find my son in bed.
