Code of Conduct
Pearson Education offers this online community ("the Community") to allow you to exchange knowledge and experiences about English language teaching. We want the community to be a place where users respect each other and the rights of others.
When you use the Community you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct and the other rules set out in the general terms and conditions.
Appropriate Language: The purpose of our online community is to exchange knowledge and experiences about English language teaching. Please avoid personal attacks, slurs, and profanity in your interactions. Please treat all other online participants with respect and do not use our online community to threaten, harass, stalk, or abuse other users.
Relevance to Topics: Please make sure that your postings in the community are relevant to the subject at hand. It is normal for some topics to drift from the stated subject. However, to ensure maximum benefit for everyone, we encourage you to keep your postings as close to the subject as possible.
Confidentiality: Please keep in mind that our community is a public space, so don't post anything that you don't want the world to see. Credit card numbers, product keys, and other confidential information, including anything covered under a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), should not be posted to any area in the online community. Please respect the confidentiality of other users and do not solicit this type of information from them.
Advertising/Solicitation: Our community was created as a forum for providing information related to English language teaching. We ask that you refrain from posting any unsolicited advertisements.
Do not use our online community services to spam others. Spam includes sending identical and irrelevant or unsolicited submissions to many different users, and includes misrepresenting the source of anything you post. Spamming in forums are serious violations of online etiquette. You must not use data mining, robots, scraping or similar data gathering or extraction methods on any part of this Site without our express prior written consent.
Protect your identity: We caution you against giving out any personally identifiable information (such as social security number, credit card number, name, address, telephone number, driver's license number, password, etc.) online. This information can easily be used for illegal or harmful purposes. You must not solicit this kind of information from other users or gather it from the Community.
Copyright/IP: The purpose of our online community is to exchange knowledge and experiences about English language teaching. The Community is not designed as a place for you to exchange copyrighted material, such as videos, music, films, newspaper articles and others. Please do not post any content you have not created yourself.
Unlawful activities: We do not allow any behaviour or content related to illegal activities. You may not use our online community to publish, post, distribute, or disseminate defamatory, infringing, obscene, or other unlawful material or discussion. This includes, but is not limited to, child pornography, bestiality, incest, illegal drugs, software piracy, and harassment.
Harmful programs: Do not post or promote any materials that could harm or disrupt another user's computer or would allow others to inappropriately access software or web sites.
You are responsible for protecting your computer against interference or viruses that may be encountered on the Internet and on our online community.
You are responsible and liable for all your activities while participating in our online community. Remember, you are responsible for anything you say or post.
Impersonating a Pearson Education employee, writer, publisher, or another user is forbidden.
You may not use our online community for the purpose of linking to external sites that violate this code of conduct.
You are responsible for any actions you may take based on advice or information you receive online. Use your own judgment when evaluating information provided through any communication service, and remember that the information provided could be from people at any age and experience level. The decision to conduct transactions is your own and you should perform your own research prior to making any decisions.
In addition to upholding this code of conduct, you are responsible for adhering to all local and national laws that pertain to your location.
We reserve the right to ban any participant from the online community for violating any of the rules above.
We also reserves the right to amend or change the Code of Conduct at any time. If we do this, we will post the changes to the Code of Conduct on this page and will indicate at the top of this page the date the Code of Conduct was last revised. We may send registered users and subscribers an email notifying you of the change. Your continued use of the Service of the Community after any such change whether or not you received an email from us notifying you of any changes, constitutes your acceptance of the new the Code of Conduct. If you do not agree to abide by these or any future the Code of Conduct, please do not use or access (or continue to use or access) the Community.
